When You Need Options – We Have Them

By Brent Blake, President, Acendas Travel

We’ve all been there before.

You’re traveling, when all of the sudden you get a text that your flight is canceled. So, after moments of despair, the scrambling begins. If you do not use a travel management company, then the situation can be dire. Travelers are at the mercy of the airline – by either trying to get through to an agent on the phone, working with the airline app, or standing in line at the airport ticket counter to rebook.

If your company does utilize a travel management company (TMC), depending on the level of service provided, there is available assistance to help minimize the impact of the travel disruption. In fact, if there is a cancellation, some TMCs will text to smartphones options for a different flight on that same carrier.

But is there a better alternative?

Working with our partners at Magnatech, Acendas Travel has developed a first-of-its-kind traveler alert system that not only allows travelers to see flight options on the CURRENT carrier, but also provides options on DIFFERENT carriers. The technology also provides a chat component to allow for direct agent communications.

Known as Mission Control ReRoute, this unique technology can save time and eliminate frustration. Here is how it works:

  • Step 1: The traveler receives a text alert to their smartphone that their flight is canceled.
  • Step 2: The traveler accesses a link which provides options for different flights with current and other carriers.
  • Step 3: If an acceptable flight is identified, the traveler can book the flight through the smartphone.
  • Step 4: If a traveler would rather communicate directly with an agent, they can utilize the text feature.

Recently rolled out to Acendas Travel clients, the feedback has been extremely positive for Mission Control ReRoute. We believe this resource is revolutionary and continues our focus on improving the customer travel experience.
